The glass used in the manufacture of the heat-insulation window pane packages for QFORT windows is made in the most modern factories by Saint-Gobain (France).
All QFORT products are equipped, as standard, with LowE Clear insulating glass, warm spacers (warm-edge technology), with either two or three panes of glass.
LowE Clear glass
LowE Clear glass gives a new definition to daylight illumination, through a maximum contribution of natural light. It has a neutral appearance which improves the light transmission, and the reflection is much higher.
It is ideal for all types of windows which require total transparency, neutral appearance and a high energetic efficency.
SuperLowE glass is characterised by super-low emissivity, which helps to reduce heat loss through the windows during the cold season.
Thus, this type of glass improves the heat-insulation capability of the heat-insulation window, and consequently the overall comfort of the residence.
Planistar Sun Glass
Planistar Sun is a deposited glass that has two main features: low emissivity, having the capacity to reflect high-wavelength infrared radiation; and solar control, reflecting much of the solar energy.
In warm climates or for south- and west-facing windows, Planistar Sun is the optimal solution to achieve high energy efficiency by reducing overheating during summer while providing increased heat insulation during winter and allowing a generous natural light input in any season.
Solar Control Glass
Solar Control glass combines the advantages of SuperLowE glass with those of reflective glass: during summer it provides strong solar protection by reducing the greenhouse effect inside the residence, while during the cold season it retains its heat-insulation properties.
Safety is a very important element when it comes to choosing the right windows. For extra safety you can choose tempered glass for your windows, as they are up to 5 times stronger than the standard one. Plus, when it breaks, it falls into very small blunt pieces, making it safer for the people touching the glass.
In comparison to laminated glass, tempered glass is not so heavy and it has increased mechanical and thermal endurance, thus being able to be used for high dimensions units. By cutting off the glass weight, you can ensure a better functionality of the joinery over time, also favoring an easier installation process.

Rolled (duplex) safety glass is comprised of two panes of glass glued to each other with at least one transparent resin layer.
The main advantage of this type of glass is the increased security derived by reducing the risk of accidents (it does not allow fragments to break off in case of breakage).
In addition, the duplex glass provides better noise insulation compared to other types of glass.

Insulating Glass Technical Details
The space between the window panes is filled with the inert gas Argon using an automated technology that hermetically seals and guarantees an Argon concentration of at least 90%.
The panes are separated by a silica gel-filled spacer bar, the granules of which have the property of absorbing moisture.
In order to increase the heat-insulation performance of the insulating glass, the dividing rod between the two panes is bent at the corners (no corner connectors are used).
The usual thickness of the glass panes varies between 4 and 10 mm (float glass 4–10 mm, rolled glass 331, 442 or 552). By combining multiple glass panes of different thicknesses in the same heat-insulating package, the noise insulation will be better than if glass panes of the same thickness are used.
Warm spacers between the glass panes – ‘Warm Edge’ technology
The new generation of warm spacers (so-called ‘warm edge’ technology) used in the manufacture of the insulated glazing plays a particularly important role in achieving better energy performance at residence level by reducing heat loss during winter and avoiding residence overheating during summer.
The warm spacers (warm edge) are spacers made of thermoplastic materials that are peripherally mounted between the glass panes of the double or triple glazing.
They have a linear thermal conductivity much lower than conventional aluminium spacers, thus contributing decisively to improving the thermal performance of windows by reducing peripherally formed heat bridges at the edges of the glazing.
The use of warm spacers significantly reduces the cooling of window edges during the cold weather or their overheating during the warm season.
The main benefits offered by warm edge compared to conventional aluminium spacers:
- Achieves significant energy savings both in winter and in summer, as up to 80% of window heat loss occurs at the window edges due to heat bridges formed by using conventional aluminium spacers.
- Due to the reduced energy consumption, CO2 emissions are also automatically reduced, with positive effects on the global warming phenomenon.
- Significant reduction or even elimination of condensation on the surface of the insulating glass inside the residence, thus significantly reducing the risk of infiltration water and mould on the surface of the windows, which can cause.
